Kei Seed Secondary School, located in Kei Sub-county, Yumbe District, Uganda, is a powerful story of community resilience, determination, and progress.
Humble Beginnings
Founded in 2016 through community initiative led by Baduru Aluma, the school began with lessons conducted under trees due to lack of infrastructure.
Overcoming Challenges
With no classrooms or teacher housing, lessons were held in rented grass-thatched structures. Despite this, learning never stopped.
🤝 Community Innovation
To support struggling parents, the school accepted food items as fees and encouraged sports and teamwork as tools for growth and unity.
Academic Excellence
Student numbers grew from a handful to hundreds. Kei Seed achieved impressive national exam results and ranked among the best schools in Yumbe during COVID-19.
Student Entrepreneurship
Through initiatives like the School Enterprise Challenge, students developed real-life skills. Shadia’s student-led business stands as a shining example.
A Community Pride
Today, Kei Seed Secondary School is a symbol of hope and progress—proof that when a community believes, success follows.
